In the Drill Team world December is the month they do most of their competing. So we spent a lot of time up north this month (thank goodness we have family up there).
Jor and our first competition was at UVU we headed up Fri Dec 7th and stayed with Austin and Marrianne. On Sat we got up early and made it to the competition around 8:30. Their first routine was their hip hop and they did awesome. I had gone down lower to video and the people around me were saying how much they liked it and how nice it was to see something different then the regular hip hop routines. THey placed 2nd in hip hop.
Next was military. I thought they did really well in this routine also but when they announced the winners the team didn't place. On our way home from the competition we learned they actually placed 3rd but the judges mixed up the names of the schools. So they placed in all their routines.
They did well in dance too they placed 5th and i forgot to take pictures of kick but they won 2nd in that too.
We also learned that competitions go ALL DAY LONG and the girls had to find things to entertain themselves. Luckily Whitney and the boys came to watch along with Grandma and Grampa Cowely so they were able to make it all day. We did leave once to eat lunch and then came right back so we didn't miss anything.

Since we were up north we decided to make a trip out of it and go see the new City Creek Mall and Temple. By the time the competition got over at 6:30 it was snowing so we crept our way up to SLC.
It was too cold to really look at any stores so we took a couple pictures and headed over to the temple.
It was snowing pretty hard by the time we got back to the mall so we took a couple more pictures and headed back to Austin's it took about 3 hours to get their but we made it without sliding off the road so i was happy.
The second competiton was at Jordan high the Next fri and Sat Dec 14-15. THis time Terry had to work and i knew the younger two wouldn't enjoy it so I drove up with my mom and Jadyn. This competition wasn't as big or as organized as the first but still fun and the team did ok at this competition. I think they were all worn out and a lot of the girls were sick. They placed 3rd in kick and they would have placed in military but they were penalized for doing a headstand (even though they didn't).
