Jadyn's First High School Dance

Saturday April 16th was the big day... Jadyn's 1st prom. I think it's funny that she ended up going to her first dance not at her own high school but at my and Terry's old high school, Pine View. She went to their Senior Ball with one of her good friends Ryan Martin. For their day date they went skittle bowling, played volleyball in the pool, and ate pizza at one of the boys houses. She got home around 4:00 to start getting ready for the evening. Jadyn had wanted one of my friends that I work with and who has assisted her when she had braces and she loved, Tina, come to do her hair.

Her little sister's admiring their big sister getting beautiful for the dance.
Putting on the finishing touches.
And one more final touch.
The beautiful result. My daughter the belle of the ball.
Isn't she pretty!
Gotta have some of her true self to keep her grounded.
Jadyn trying to put on Ryan's boutineer ( she couldn't do it and so I had to).

Don't they look cute together.
Being a gentleman and helping lift Jadyn into the truck.

They went to Outback for dinner back to one of the boys houses for pictures and headed to the dance getting lost so they didn't get there until 9:30 (good thing they took pictures at someone's house because they missed them at the dance), they danced until 11:30 and then went to Iceburg for a late night snack, back to someone's house to visit, and got Jadyn home 10 mins early. A great time for Jadyn's first dance and date for that matter.

Jaicelyns Track Meet

Remember how I said we were waiting to see how Jaicelyn did on her long jump this year. . . . Well she won and was able to go to the district track meet at Pine View on Sat May 14th.

She did her best but did not move on from there. She loved the experience of getting to go though.

On thur April 14, Jaicelyn had her elementary track meet. This year she signed up to do the Long Jump, the 100 meter, and a relay. She got 6' in the long jump. Better then last year and last year she won. We haven't heard yet if she will go to district or not. But I am thinking she probably will. In the 100 meter she came 2nd in her heet. The relay ..her team would have done well but they dropped the baton and were disqualified. Oh well maybe next year. She had a blast though and loves doing track. Getting ready to jump...

Jaice in mid air.

hitting her 6' mark.

getting ready to run the 100 meter....

running her heart out.

Week Late Spring Break

On March 22 we headed to SLC to see Bon Jovi (one of Terry's Christmas presents). The girls went to half a day of school (so did Terry) I picked everyone up and headed to Cedar to pick up Jor from her science fair. We ate sandwhiches for lunch on the way up (I love that the girls are all old enough that we rarely have to stop for potty breaks any more). We stopped at Austin and Marrianne's house in Lehi to eat dinner at a hamburger place they had been telling us was very good. It was JCW's and it was very good! We kissed Jantzyn good bye and she went back to Austin's house to spend the night with them and cute little Jenna. The rest of us headed to Salt Lake

The band coming out on stage. There is nothing like the feeling you get with the crowd cheering and the music starting and them walking out.
Jon and Richie jamming together.
Yea!! It has finally arrived.
Waiting in line to get in
Getting ready to rock out
Waiving their phones during a slow song you can barely see little Jaice waiving her hand behind Terry's shoulder...she absolutley loved the concert she stood and sang all the songs with the band even though she was so tired she kept going like a trooper.
On Wed. we took the girls shopping for Jadyn's b-day. I took the older two and Terry took the two little ones (I think they had more fun then us). They played on some play places watched a little train drive around the mall and their favorite part rode up and down escalators.
Jorrin trying on some "Toms" that she had been dying to buy.
Jaice took a picture of Terry in a toy store.
Jaice and Jantzyn with their favorite stuffed animal (they had a hard time deciding which was their favorite) in the Disney Store.

After shopping we were able to finally buy a car we had found on KSL. We stopped at McDonald's (Jantzyn got to choose since she didn't get to go to the concert) to eat and headed home.

How Jaicelyn and Jantzyn spent their spring break...

What a difference a week and a half makes!

Since turning 16 a week and a half ago Jadyn's life has been a whirl wind. She has had a interview and got a job at Aeropostale, driven the girls everywhere for me, and been asked and has answered for her first prom! I feel like life is in fast forward mode for her and us. But this stage so far has been so fun! Jadyn was so excited when she came home at 11:30 pm to find her room covered in fish. She said she walked in the room in the dark and felt something squish under her feet so she flipped on the light to find this....

We decided she could answer him with something having to do with wishes and this is what we came up with.
putting the poster together...
Star light star bright, you'll get your answer when you wish upon a star tonight,
She is going to put these all over his celing with other little stars. Written in glow-in-the dark paint it will say I wish, I may I wish I might, go to Senior ball with you Saturday night.

This and That

What my kids do while listening to conference.

A couple of Mondays ago we had a work in the yard family night. I told the girls to go get in some clothes they could do yard work in this is what they came out in.

Jantzyn had on her black patten school/church shoes her yellow light colored school clothes and a winter knit hat with ear flaps on it to protect her from the sun.
Jaice did a little better although she didn't really match.
Jor came out in slippers and Jadyn wouldn't let me get a picture but she was in too small old soccer shorts and Terry's huge flip flops. Oh well it worked and so did they.

Jorrin is taking a cheer class and on Saturday night they cheer the first half of all the Semi Pro Rebel football teams games. I went to watch her and she looked so cute.

On April fools day Jantzyn was very upset because she didn't have an April fools to do so we wrapped her arm and told her to tell her teacher it was broken. She was so excited and cheered right up. She came home and said her teacher believed her and she was so happy that she had fooled someone.

Jantzyn being Ariel at Jaicelyn's school choir Tuachan performance.
Coyote Crooners singing "Rawhide". This year's program was a western theme.
The vinyl lettering Jadyn got for her b-day.

Jadyn's 16th B-day

We started off Jadyn's B-day by driving over to the Driver's License Division and getting her license. Then i dropped her off at school. Terry had called her on Mon. and offically asked her out on her first date. A lunch date so he picked her up at 11:00 and gave her his gift which was a basket filled with driving necessities such as: sunglasses, keys and keychain, gum, and of course gas money. She picked to eat at Subway and go to Perks for a smoothie

Jadyn so proud of that license and the fact she missed -0 in the driving test. The lady at the Driver's Licesne place told me to have it framed, that it was only the 2nd time she had seen that since she had been working there. We failed to tell her that Jay drove with one of her coachs.

enjoying her smoothie.
That night we did a impromtu surprise open house for Jay. I had remembered a while back she had said it would be fun to have a surprise party. But i had decided to get her a prom dress for her b-day instead. Two nights before Terry and I talked and decided we could handle a low key open house so we hurried and put it together and texted a couple of her friends to let everyone know, and we actually even had a few friends show up. We took Jadyn to dinner at Cafe Rio and told her we were coming home to have cupcakes and open gifts as a family. Tavin and all his friends were the first to arrive so I told her surprise your going to have a lot more people stopping by tonight, got out the icecream cake she wanted and i had told her i didn't have money to get and started partying.

at about 9:30 some of the kids decided to ride wiggle cars down the hill. I told them to stop after 10 but i think it was 10:30 before they finally got yelled at by our neighbor and stopped.

At about 10:15 we finally pulled Jadyn inside to open gifts (jaice and jantzyn could barely keep their eyes open) Jadyn opening a picture of her prom dress. She got it a couple days later.
Showing her new levis we got on her shopping spree in Provo. I think she had a wonderful 16th b-day that I hope she will always remember.
