Our (2016) Christmas Present from Jadyn and Jake

For Christmas last year Jadyn and Jake gave us Tim and Faith Soul 2 Soul tickets.  She said "it's not until September so you should have plently of time to get off of work".  HaHa.  It's amazing how fast time goes by.  It feels like yesterday they were giving them to us and the day was now here.  It wa so a Wednesday night so we worked half a day and headed up early enough to go eat and then head over to the arena.

The show was sooo good.  Terry said it's probably one of his favorites right after Bon Jovi.  They had tons of lasers and lights and sang a ton of songs.  They were hilarious with each other and the crowd.  It got over around 11 and we took our time leaving and then headed to our hotel.  The next day we got up and headed to Provo to meet with Jorrin's fiancial aid lady and then to help take her around where she needed to go while we were there.  We headed back to St. George around noon so we could get to Jaicelyns soccer game that night.  It was a fast but very fun get away for us.

Simister's in San Fran

For our annual simister retreat this year we went to San Francisco (or fat camp as some of us learned).  We had a great time.  We all met at the Vegas airport to fly out at 7:00 am.  After we arrived (and bundled up, it was freezing) we rode the subway system close to our hotel and then walked the rest of the way (up hill).  We didn't have a lot of time after getting to our hotel so we ate on the way and then walked 6 miles to the pier to go on our Alcatraz expedition.  I loved Alcatraz it was so interesting and creepy all at the same time.  It was probably one of my favorite things we did.

 Golden Gate in the distance

 how these men lived everyday.

What they had to look at each day to see what they were missing out on.
this prisoner escaped using a spoon to slowly make a hole just big enough to fit through then climbed up the pipes and out.  He and two others were never found.

they had to have shadows of the knives so they wiould know if one went missing.  An inmate was acutally killed when one was stolen.

After we returned from alcatraz we ate at a yummy sourdough bread factory on the pier and then headed to Ghiradelli for ice cream.  By the end of all the walking some of us were so tired (including dr brad) we got a uber and rode back to the hotel.  We were so tired we were out by 9:30 that night.

The next morning we headed across the golden gate and to the Muir woods to spend the morning.  They were so pretty and it was so peaceful.

After we returned to the pier to shop for a little while and then go on our 7 mile (up hill) bike ride over the Golden Gate bridge.  It was an awesome experience but there are a lot of very fit girls that decided it was funner to race over it than enjoy their time doing it.  So by the time we were done I think I lost a little of the magic from doing it. And was just happy to be on my feet again.  When we got to the little town across the bridge we shopped for a little while and rode the ferry back over to the mainland.  We then found a fun restuarant to eat at as a whole group and then some urbered and some of us walked back through China Town.  It was fun to walk through it but I see why they all have bars over their shops at night.

I sent this to Terry just to prove I was actually riding my bike across the bridge.

the buildings that we went shopping at just down the street from our hotel.  We state at Union Station and it was so cool.

China town before it got dark.
You can see one of the 3 main dridges (I think this was Oakland bridge)
China down after dark.
It was such a fun but exhausting trip. But I would love to go back some day to see the things we didn't get a chance to see.
