March (also known as the start of "Stay at Home, Stay Safe"

Terry and I had been wondering about all the upcoming weekends we were going to have to travel...little did we know things were about to change drastically and we wouldn't be traveling at all let alone leaving our homes.
Things started getting announced about COVID 19 around the first of March and how people were starting to panic a little.  But I remember the exact moment I knew things were not going to be the same.  We were in Costco getting new phones for the family when Terry had gone out to the car to wait.  He came back in and said that Rudy Gobert had gotten the virus and the NBA was shutting down.  I knew if our country was shutting down one of it's big money makers things were only going to get worse.  I remember the unsettling feeling in my stomach and the worry.  Also while we were there was the first few days of everyone hording tp and water.  So I told Terry right then to go grab a thing of tp if they had it.  He did and got one of the last 3 they had.  It was just so unreal.  That same weekend was supposed to be Jorrin's best friend Jordyn's wedding.   So we waiting to see what was going to happen.  The country had made an announcement no more than 80 people together so we headed up for the wedding.  I just remember how weird a vibe it was.  It was almost a somber feeling at their luncheon and reception.  They had placed face masks and hand santizer at the sign in table.  I still hadn't  realized what a big deal this virus was or was going to be though.   Coming home Sunday we learned that the kids would not be going back to school after our spring break the next week.  Also during this time Jaice was in Mexico with Kiel and friends for their spring break she had left on Thur and was supposed to be coming back on Tues.  They had decided to stay with the next group coming so Kiel let one of the guys take his car to pick up the next group.  So it was just those two left when the guy called and said they decided not to come back down since there were rumors of them shutting the border.  Terry and I had both been up all night worrying about it and texted Jaice the next morning telling her we both felt like it was time to come home.  They had already made the decision to come home but since they didn't have a car they were going to take a shuttle to the border and then Kiel's grandpa that lived in Arizona would pick them up and take them to his house until he could drive them home the next day.  Oh and by the way during all of this Jaice called and told us she was adopting a dog and bringing her home with them.  It was a crazy couple of days but we were so relieved to just have them back in the states (they closed the border the day they left) that we decided not to worry about the dog until we got her home.
Back to the Sunday we got home from the wedding.  We got home around 8 had showered and were relaxing on the couch when at 9 there was a knock on the door.  We opened it and there were Jor and Bridger.  She had been told that the Hope Avenue where she works in the mall was only going to be open very short hours and she would not be on the schedule so they decided to come down to "stay at home" with us.  They were here all week and then left on Sunday.  Then they came back down on Thur and stayed until the next Wed morning.  With all the uncertainty going on it was such a relief to have them here and have all my kids together.  That is my happy place and it made all of this a little easier.  Plus it was nice to have them here to keep Jantz company.  She would of been so lonely spending all of her spring break stuck with just me and Terry.  We are all still trying hard to get used to this "new normal".  I am still working and so is Terry so Jantz is having to learn how to do her online school on her own.  I am very proud of her for being motivated and doing it and soccer on her own.  She is missing her friends so much.  One night (i wish i would of gotten a picture) a group of 10 of them drove their cars to a church parking lot and parked 6 feet away from each other in a circle and just visited for 2 1/2 hours.  They all needed that!  Other than that she has face timed and did a group chat when they painted rocks together at each of their own houses.

Jordyn Beck's wedding and reception March 14, 2020

Jorrin's best friend (and another daughter to us) got engaged the day after Jorrin's wedding.  They have both been such a huge part of each other's lives we were excited to be a part of her wedding too.  But with everything going on we weren't sure if they'd still be able to have the wedding.  Luckily theirs was one of the last few weddings that was able to have the people you invited (80) attend and then eventually the temple closed.  Originally Jor and Bridger had thought about waiting until March for their wedding and I and they are so glad they did it in November.  I can't even imagine what all these poor brides and grooms and their parents are feeling right now.  The wedding was beautiful and it was a fun night.

Jordyn incorporating her daddy daughter dance into a bridesmaid dance it was so cute and Jorrin choreographed the dance for them.

Everyone had fun dancing and they even played Bon Jovi for Terry..haha.

We were so busy visiting and enjoying the whole day by the time we thought to get a picture with Jordyn she was already changed and ready to leave!!
Same with Jor.

The kids kept themselves busy all week playing cards, board, and Nintendo switch games.

Jantz face timing her best friend Emalee.  I sent this in to the yearbook..haha

While we were having fun staying at home Jaice had no clue how bad things were getting in the US while she was spring breaking in Mexico.  She had so much fun though and made some really good new friends.  She also realized how much she liked Kiel while they were there (they have been official since March 30th) and became a puppy momma.

The story of  Jaice and Kiel...Jaice and Kiel matched on one of the dating sites and had texted back and forth a little but had kindof stopped. Then one night Jaice has gone over to Addie’s brother apartment to help paint (which also happened to be Kiel’s apt) she said they didn’t really talk and he was actually with another girl but they both thought each other was cute.  Then one night she and addie were at the library and she saw kiel and another one of his roommates Jaice was friends with so she said she decided to go say hi!! She said she flirted with him telling him his eyes were very pretty and talked for a while. He said he thought she was very cute too and thought I need to ask this girl out but then didn’t. Then a week or so later she went to watch Addie’s brother play intramural basket ball and kiel was on his team. After the game kiel came over and asked Jaice to hang out later. She kept trying to decide if she wanted too and after asking addie and me she decided to do it. Funny thing that night Terry woke up in a panic that Jaice wasn’t home at midnight and text her to get home. So I’m sure kiel has a good first impression of her parents. Haha. But it must not have been that bad because they hung out again and then went on a couple official dates. He met us on their third date they went hiking then came to our house to eat and meet us.  Terry and I both instantly liked him. Jaice was going on dates with another boy during this too and was having a hard time deciding her feelings for both of them. But kiel was very patient and knew the situation. He gave her time and space and kept coming around. He spent Presidents’ Day weekend with us at Jantz’s tournament and not only did all our family fall in love with him but so did our soccer family. Jaice is close with a lot of the kids and parents on Jantzs team and they all told her he was a catch. So after a lot of prayer and searching her feelings she knew kiel was the one. When he invited her to go to Mexico with his friends we knew it would help her a lot too and it did. She came back fully invested in their relationship and because of everything they had decided she would be the one to decide when she was ready with things. On March 30th she made it official and they are two happy little love birds!!

The story of Covi... On the last day they were in Mexico they were walking back to the house after riding horses and a American couple on a 4 wheeler pulled up to them and said they had rescued this little puppy from a man who was beating her.  They said they wanted to keep her but they already had 6 dogs and the wife was 6 mths pregnant and they just couldn't have another one.  They said it was very rare to find a puppy in Mexico and the Kiel and Jaice looked like nice a couple.  Jaice fell in love instantly so they took her to the vet got her shots and paperwork and headed for the border.  We have all fallen in love with her.  She is the best little puppy and so smart she is learning so quickly.  Right now she is staying with Kiel's family until he this summer when we can hopefully have her at our house.

Our kids were starting to go stir crazy and one of Jor's friends had posted a picture of a hike we had never heard of so we knew there wouldn't be a lot of people on it.  We got the info from her and on Sunday tried it out.  It was so cute and fun!  One we will definitely do again. It was called Aspiration Trail and people had painted inspiring messages on rocks and left them all along the trail.

Jaice was just getting home from Mexico and since they couldn’t have their extended stay they went on one last adventure with some of their group they did a hike in snow canyon and did the come follow me together one last time.

I tried out a recipe to make Disneyland Monte Cristo sandwiches and they actually turned out good!  They were very yummy and we put a picture of the Blue Bayou on the tv and listening to the sounds of the restaurant while we ate.  It was fun!

Jantzyn's first day of home online school.
math home work
Jantzyn and Jaice got bored so they decided to color Jantz's hair pink.

Jaice and Kiel took her to do a little photo shoot at the color wall. They turned out so cute! And they even snapped a couple of themselves!!

They are stunning together and make it each other so happy!!

While Jor and Bridger were down we decided to have a fire pit smores night.  It was one of the funnest nights together.  Everyone sat around talking and listening to music and

Jantzyn working on her foods homework. She has to clean the fridge and make a meal from things she found in the fridge. She made breakfast burritos!!

On Saturday we decide we would have a family yard work day. It was so funny while Jaice was mowing the lawn our neighbor pulled up and yelled to Terry, “it must be the end of the world if your girls are all doing yard work” haha

Cute little Covi taking a break from running around “helping” everyone!

We hung up the hammock to enjoy the outdoor weather and still be lazy!

We gone on more hikes and walks then we’ve ever had a chance to before. This week it was the pioneer trail around the black hill.

My friend from work brought in the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had and said the recipe was pretty easy.  So given that we had time Jor and I decided to try it out.

They didn't look as good as her but they did taste as good!! I was pretty proud of myself (and Jor)!

Poor Jadyn turned 25 this year and because of everything going on we kept it pretty simple.  She picked her favorite home cook meal. "Tucanos" ribs with red potatoes and asparagus.  And for desert she wanted a strawberry cheesequake icecream cake.  I was so excited that Dairy Queen was still delivery them through the drive through.  But sadly....

Our downstairs freezer door did not shut all the way and this is what it looked like when we got it out.  Oh well everyone just put in in a bowl and ate it like a shake.
