What a Weekend

This last week has had a lot of ups and downs:

Ups....

...Pulling weeds in the backyard and having Gentry come over and play with Jaice and Jantzy.  Then having a yummy BBQ and watching a movie to relax.

 ...Having all the family come down for Jantzyn's baptism and going to the river to skim board with everyone (except Jadyn, that's one of the downs).

 ....We also had a fun dinner at the park after Jantzyn's baptism with all the family and it was so fun and yummy.
....Fri. night Terry and I took Jantzyn for her belated b-day dinner (she picked Mickey D's again...yummy haha).
 ....Also both Tavin and Jake were ordained Elder's, after which we had another yummy family lunch.

The Downs.....

.....On Fri night Jadyn had a scrimmage against Timpview at 8:00.  She forgot her knee brace...need I go on?  She said she thought about calling us to bring it but didn't. Terry got there before I did and when he saw her he thought about calling me to bring it and didn't.  I didn't notice she wasn't wearing it until she was lined up to start the game, but I should have said something and didn't.  About 10 mins. into the game she collided with a girl from the other team and went down screaming and grabbing her knee.  I think I was in shock and a little mad about her not bringing her brace.  But i just sat there, Terry ran over and helped get her off the field.  The Timpview trainer wrapped it and got her some ibuprofen.  She sat and finished watching the game while her coach went and got her some crutches.  By the time we got home her knee was huge again.  I kept going back and forth as to if she would be playing soccer anymore. I looked so much worse that last time and she couln't put any weight on it at all.  Last time she didn't use the crutches and this time she couldn't walk without them.  We couldn't take her to the doctor until Mon., the weekend was a long waiting game of up and down emotions.  She was so mad at herself, we were mad at ourselves, and so worried about her being mad at herself that there was a lot of crying and talking about things.  Consequences are so not fun sometimes.  She started icing and taking 4 ibuprofen every 4 hours for the rest of the weekend.  The only time she got off the couch was to go to Jantzyn's baptism.  At the dinner she had a reclining chair.  She was able to have a priestood blessing that said according to her faith she would be back out on the soccer field.  That did give me a little comfort.  Terry did let her watch them go ice blocking on Sat night just so she wasn't so depressed.
 Mon morning her knee was still huge but Terry took her in to the doctor anyway.  That morning i was so nervous and kind of lost it at work waiting to hear what the doctor said.  But to my, Terry, and most of all Jadyn's relief, he said nothing was torn and that he didn't think she needed surgery.  He said she will have to do physical therapy for a couple of weeks and won't be able to play for about 4-6 weeks.  Hopefully she will be back on the field before high school season begins in August.  She will have to miss the camp she was most looking forward to, UVU, where she wants to play in college.  Hopefully she can have a awesome senior season and still get the coach to look at her.

 Jake came over every day (and night) to keep her company.  She feels so bad because it's his last couple months home before he leaves for college and they have a list of things they want to do.  This was not on that list.

 oh well, they have fun no matter what.

 The last up:  The annual trip to Tuachan for a play with Grandma an Grandpa.  It was last night.  The girls got home around 12:30 am but said they loved it and are so glad they got to go.
