Brian Head Weekend!

This year instead of camping Terry's mom and dad decided it would be fun to rent a cabin at Brian Head and spend a weekend there. Terry's mom and dad headed up early Fri July 9th and the rest of us arrived in the evening. After an hour decision making process of where everyone would sleep we all got settled and the fun began. We had lots of good:

Kevin and Jen made playing cards (from yearbook yourself) with everyone's faces with different eras. It was hilarious to see how they turned out and we laughed about it for about an hour before we actually started playing any games.

The guys went on a bike ride.

Everyone greeting them when they got home. It had just started to rain and they had been gone a long time so we were releaved to see them all in one piece. Especially Terry since he was the only beginner going on a very not beginner trail.

While the guys were biking the rest of us went on the ski lift to the top of the mountain. This is how the kids rode to the lift.

When we got off we were surprised to still see snow on top so of course the kids had to put it to use.

The kids spent every minute they could on the swings during the day while it wasn't raining or getting to infested with mesquitos.

They had some little swings for the not so brave also.

Robyn brought a bead craft for the kids and even the grownups had fun doing this. I think Terry, Kevin, and Tyson made several of them.

While it was raining or got to dark to play outside the kids were kept entertained in the basement.

We also played a fun, stinky game of Sardins. Everyone coming out of our room aka "The Closet". There was probably 15-20 people crammed into places there shouldn't be and people used the opportunity to let themselves be known if you know what I mean. Phew!!

Let's not forget the many hours of....

Entertainment....

Jadyn and Tavin were really on one. They performed for at least an hour and a half. Sometimes to music sometimes without. We were laughing hysterically.

These two should be on "America's got talent". This was all improv by the way.

The next night all the kids got in the act and we had a talent show. This was after the talent show had ended and they had been downstairs for a while. Poor Talen they even got him.

Sunday was our last day and Mom Losee thought it would be fun to go to sacrament. The kids waiting for sacrament to start.

Our family had a wonderful time and won't forget the "cabin at Brian Head".

Jaicelyns Birthday Wish

For sometime now Jaicelyn has been into horses. One day we were talking and I said one of the girls I work with has a lot of horses, her eyes brightened and she begged me to talk to her to see if she could ride one. So for her birthday we took her for her first horse ride. She loved every minute of it and because Lindsey was so nice she was able to not only ride the horses, but to feed them hay, get their water, touch their teeth and hooves, and play with the baby horse. In her word, "The best day of her life."

Every year on the girls birthday they get to go to dinner with just me and Terry, and they get to pick where they want to go. This year Jaicelyn chose Applebee's.

SUPER SATURDAY!

Saturday Jadyn had her SC girls soccer fund raisier. They pre-sold car washes for $5.00 to at least 5 people and then all got together as a team to wash them. They had a lot of success and washed over 100 cars. Jadyn was tired but had alot of wet fun with all the girls.

We have been waiting for this saturday for a while. We don't go to the movies very often (anymore) so when the girls started asking if we could go to Toy Story 3 terry and I decided we would break down and go as a family. We purchased the tickets weeks ago so we could go the date and time we wanted, and told the girls when we told them about our overnighter. They were so excited. When we were getting ready to go we found out our neighbors had tickets the same time as us so we waited in line with them and sat as close as we could (it was already packed by the time we got in and we started waiting in line an hour before showtime. We all loved the movie and Jaicelyn and Terry said it was the best of the three. Jadyn, Jorrin, and I thought they all tied in likeableness.

They all had to find their favorite Toy Story toy when we got home.

OVERNIGHTER

For the last couple of years Terry and I have wanted to take the girls to the Mormom Miracle Pageant in Manti but it never worked out...well this year Jadyn had youth conference that ended at Cove Fort on the first day the pageant started so we picked her up from there and headed up to Manti. We got there and ate some yummy subways and then headed to the temple to get a good blanket spot so we didn't have to sit on the hard chairs. Then we walked around looked at the booths and then relaxed, people watched, and had pictures with the cast memebers walking around.
Terry or the girls have never been to the pageant so I was excited to see their reaction. The girls all enjoyed it except Jadyn fell asleep from being so tired from youth conference. The rest of the girls stayed bundled up against the chilly summer's night air. Terry's reaction was mixed he expected it to be a little more like a Tuachan production, but he did like it. The next morning we walked around the temple and saw all the behind the scenes equipment and how big and beautiful the temple is. We ate breakfast at a little park in Manti, stopped at Fremont Indian Park, and then headed home.

We toured Cove Fort (Terry, Jorrin, and Jantzyn had never been there) while Jadyn finished up her youth conference. We got there right as the youth were having lunch so were able to join them and eat Dutch Oven Potatoes and Ribs.

YARD WORK...HARD WORK!!!

For the last couple of weeks we have been working on our yard again. We (with the help from mom and dad Cowley) have built a rock retaining wall, planted some bushes, and now are starting to fill the wall with dirt so we can build the girls swing set.

The girls also entertained themselves while all the work was going on. They built tunnels in the river bottom fill dirt....

....and made Mickey Mouse out of rocks. This yard was definitly a good investment. The girls have been outside at least once everyday since we got the grass.

OUR TRIP UP NORTH

The first weekend in June we went up to Happy Valley for our niece Maddie's baptism. While we were there I forgot to take very many pictures but I did get a few. We had a fun relaxing weekend. After the baptism we had a very yummy lunch, visited for a while, and then went to visit Grandpa Kendalls grave. After that we went to visit our friends the Maag's in Cedar Hills. Terry and Troy were mission companions and found out that they are also related somewhere down the line. We have kids all the same ages and the kids love seeing them. On Sunday we visited Austin, Marriane, and baby Jenna. Again the girls fought over who got to hold her and much to their dismay they found she doesn't want to be held anymore but just to be played with (that didn't stop them from trying though). Then we headed home and got home early around 6:00 Sunday night. Jadyn found a garbage can with her soccer # on it so we couldn't resist taking this picture.
