Duck Creek Camping 2020

This years camping trip because of COVID came a couple months later than usuall.  And it ended up being during the 24th of July holiday.  I think we will change it to always be over this weekend as it was so fun and the weather was perfect!

We all headed up Thursday night.  And as soon as we got there it started to pour.  It only lasted about 20 mins and as soon as it stopped we started to get everything set up.  We didn't get to eat until about 10:30 but everyone was starving so Im glad we had prepared most of it before hand.  On Friday everyone slept in and then got up and just visited for a while.  Then we had sandwiches for lunch and played games, sat in the hammock, played latter ball,  and Kiel who had been up the night before with Covi took a long nap.  Haha!  Jor and Bridger were in charge of dinner on Friday and we had tin foil dinners.  They turned at very good (usually mine are burned) and then we had smores and visited around the fire. Then the kids played games again until midnight when everyone couldn't say awake any longer and went to bed.  On Sat Jadyn and Jake made pancakes with the Kneaders syrup and berries.  They tasted just like kneaders.  Then we all got ready and headed over to the Crystal Falls hike.  Jake is still recovering from his foot surgery so he took his crutch with him.  It was funny to see all the looks and hear the comments from people.  I heard one parent tell his kids "if that guy can do it using a crutch you guys should not be complaining at all"  We were on the hike for probably 2 hours and then headed back to camp for hotdogs and to play more games.  Terry and I were in charge of Dutch oven chicken, potatoes, and peach cobbler.  After dinner we went on a drive to look at cabins and then came back and  did smores again and just visited unitl around 11 Terry and I headed to bed and the kids played more games.  Bridger had just got a new game he had heard was so fun and the kids all loved it they played it unitl around 12:30 until everyone was too cold and tired.  Sunday morning we got up ate cleaned up and headed home to get ready for Jadyn and Jakes baby reveal.  Every year when I go to bed I say this is my last year coming (I really don't like tent sleeping) but just being away from everything and just being with the kids is just to precious to me that some how we end up doing it again.  So Im sure next year as I go to bed on the first night I will be saying it's my last again...until the next year!

Covi absoultely loved camping.  She had so much fun chasing the squirels and the birds and thinking she was the best protector of all of us.  She went on probably 10 walks with Terry and every time Terry would go to get wood she knew it was her duty to go with him.  One time he was trying to go pee and she was whining because she thought he was going to look for wood with out her.  She did so good with all of the other dogs and people up there too.  It's fun to see her learn and how smart she is.

Bridger made some very cool rock formations on our hike!

Covi was so worn out from everthing on Friday and Saturday she didn't make a peep in the night and went to sleep around 10 both nights.
